The ethical side: We trade only with Sri lanka. All our products are made by five family based enterprises with whom we have longterm working commitments. We design new products in the UK for the individual suppliers, to utilise their knowledge and skills and to provide the families and their enployees with continual employment throughout the year.

We employ a representative in Sri Lanka to coordinate shipments. liaise with the UK on behalf of the suppliers and to arrange prompt payments for all goods supplied. We deal direct with each supplier; we do not pay commissions or middlemen We are currently assisting three of our suppliers with substantial interest free loans for the development of their business'.

We maintain regular contact with all our suppliers by phone, fax and onsite visits throughout the year. We work closely with each to maintain improve, and update their working practice and understanding of fair trade.

In return we expect our suppliers to maintain a safe and pleasant working environment, equal opportunities, good rates of pay, prompt payment for both employees and incountry suppliers and a quality product at a fair price.

Children are not involved in any stage of the production of these toys.

The environmental side: All of our products and packaging are PVC free. Many of our products are made from rubberwood sourced from exhausted rubberwood plantations that are replanted every 10-15 years.

We prefer to use recycled products if possible. The majority of our large packing cartons are already once used and the packing materials are either shredded paper or materials Supplied by local gift shops from their own deliveries.

We avoid the use of excessive packaging.

Toy Safety: All these products have been successfully tested in the UK by an EC Toy Approved Body, to comply with BS 5665 ans EN71 parts 1, 2 and 3
